TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT

A Tribute CD to
“The Queens Of Noise…”
THE RUNAWAYS!

Main Man Records is paying tribute to one of the most influential bands of the 70s... the original “Queens of Noise”: THE RUNAWAYS!
A Double CD Tribute entitled “Take It Or Leave It” features 36 tracks over two hours of music, spanning The Runaways’ entire trajectory with their best songs and greatest hits internationally known as: “Cherry Bomb”, “Queens Of Noise”, “California Paradise” and “Heartbeat” among many others.

“Take It Or Leave It” also includes two performances by original Runaways band members: lead singer Cherie Currie’s rocking remake of fan-favorite “American Nights” and “Dirty Magazines”, the last recording made by drummer Sandy West with her band Blue Fox.

Cherie Currie, Joan Jett, Lita Ford, Sandy West, Jackie Fox, Vicki Blue; these teenage girls shocked and rocked both audiences and critics alike and, in the process they spoke to a whole new generation of rockin’ girls - some of whom turned to play in rock bands as a result.

Artists from different musical backgrounds participated on the “Take It Or leave It” project to help Main Man Records honor The Runaways

“They have donated their time and resources to honor The Runaways. Some of our very special guests include The Donnas, Shonen Knife, The Adolescents, The Dandy Warhols, Richard Barone (of The Bongos), Derwood Andrews (of Generation X), Toilet Boys, Care Bears On Fire (with Earl Slick of David Bowie/New York Dolls), Kittie, Starz, David Johansen (of New York Dolls) and Kathleen Hanna (of Bikini Kill/Le Tigre) & Peaches, (whose collaboration was produced by Ad Rock of the Beastie Boys) as well as members of Frehley’s Comet, Monster Magnet, The Fastbacks, The Cucumbers, The Doughboys and Cousin Oliver from The Brady Bunch, Robbie Rist!”

The tribute CDs also count with some interview clips with the members of The Runaways interspersed with the music, sincere comments from Johnny Ramone and MORE!

In honor of drummer Sandy West, who lost her fight with cancer in 2006, Main Man Records will be donating proceeds from “Take It Or Leave It” to the American Cancer Society in her memory. In 2005, Sandy was diagnosed with lung cancer, and after battling the unbeatable, she died on October 21st, 2006 at 47. Sandy West is greatly missed.
